Many times, when we miss a city and a person, we will constantly think of the food in that city and the person who can cook. But, in the final analysis, what we miss is that kind of smell, that kind of smell that mixes human feelings, love and experience.
Just like Qiao Jia signed my name in her new book "Enjoy a Broccoli": Delicious is human.
Speaking of food, there must be a lot to say for foodies. But I am not a strict foodie, because I am a lazy person. I love to try the strategies given by others, and occasionally I will cook something delicious by myself. Just because I am too lazy, I won't search for delicious food, I will be grateful when I meet it, and I will want to taste it many times. I didn't see it. I just missed it. No regrets. Even though I am not a strict foodie, I still have a lot to say about food.

I know a friend who can be regarded as a serious foodie.
The first time you met her, you knew you didn't have to think about what to eat when you were with her. That "what's for lunch?" The century problem won't bother her at all. Where can I find delicious food? What is the best way to eat? Sometimes she can even clearly know how to match the dishes of the two stores. Being with her is the greatest happiness for a lazy and food-loving person like me.
The restaurants she chose ranged from star hotels to street vendors. There are many kinds of dishes, from Chinese food in Hunan, Guangdong, Henan and Sichuan to foreign food in France, Japan and South Korea. The taste ranges from spicy, sour and bold to sweet, greasy and delicious, moist, pure and elegant.
People like her. I can't forget it. Every time I mention food, I always think of her. I haven't seen you for years. I look forward to eating and drinking together next time we meet.

Qiao Jia's "Learn from a pit" has a sentence on the cover of the inside page:
Such a pleasant winter night reminds me that when I was a child, we loved to drink a kind of "Hu spicy soup" made by grandma.
People who have eaten the famous "Hu spicy soup" in Henan should know that Hu spicy soup is for people with heavy tastes. The kind of Hu spicy soup on the market now is made of thick packets. It's soup, but it's actually very strong. There are also some ingredients such as beef slices, gluten and fungus. It tastes hemp and spicy. People who don't like spicy food can make them cry when they drink this.
However, the "hot soup" my grandmother used to make was not like this. In the countryside, she cooks with natural raw materials without any packaging. So the process of Hu spicy soup she made is very complicated. Use noodles and water to wash out thick noodle soup and elastic gluten (this is natural gluten). Then wait for gluten to wake up before using it. Grandma used this noodle soup to add some simple ingredients, such as chopped leeks, plumeria, daylily and other vegetables that can be seen everywhere on the farm. They are slowly boiled together, and they need to be constantly stirred during the process. It takes a long time to make the whole "Hu Spicy Soup".
Whenever grandma cooks, my brother and I compete for a drink. What I remember most clearly is that when I was a child, my grandmother cooked "Hu spicy soup", and I needed to drink two or three bowls. If it weren't for the stomach, it wouldn't be greasy at all.
Later, grandma passed away, and I haven't eaten such delicious food for many years. I can't forget the taste and feeling, and I miss it until now.
This feeling is like what Joga said in the book My Grandpa Can Cook Fish: The person who cooked the taste at the beginning is old.
For me, grandma who can make good taste is gone. It's hard to find that smell in my life.

A good friend sent a message to WeChat circle of friends, saying: A person who didn't eat noodles since childhood went to his in-laws' house but ate noodles every day. Do you want me to lose weight?
Maybe her husband's family doesn't know that she hasn't eaten noodles since she was a child. Maybe they think it's not far from the area and their eating habits should be similar.
In fact, diet is a family unit. Every family's eating habits are unique. They are different from any other family.
I believe that my sister and brother can eat together, because we have been eating the meals cooked by our parents since childhood and have been used to the taste for many years. Because my parents like to eat soft rice and vegetables. Therefore, each cooking time will be longer, and the fried dishes will be "very cooked". I'm used to it and think it's delicious. I even thought for a time that everyone loved to eat like this.
Until I met my husband. Their family is not very picky about what they eat. He said that when he was a child, his family was poor, so it would be nice to have enough to eat. Not to mention what "delicious" is required. Later, we got married and had children. My father-in-law came to help me. He likes to stir fry a little before cooking, and his taste is also partial. Every time you take a bite, you say that this dish is still raw. Do you want to heat it again?
For this reason, we often disagree. When I said raw vegetables, he said they were ripe. I said it was too salty, and he said it was too light. Occasionally, because of the disharmony of diet, there have been contradictions in the middle. But in the end, it's okay.
Man is an easily assimilated animal. The two sides gave in to each other, slowly found a balance point and adjusted to a diet acceptable to everyone. Naturally, his taste gradually faded, and my taste gradually increased. Everything will be perfect.
So,
Behind the difference in diet represents many differences between people. If you and TA can eat together, you can basically chat and play together. Sometimes diet is also a way for human beings to divide groups.

What do you think of when you think of college days? A humorous and rigorous teaching teacher? Rich and wonderful club activities? Young and pure love time? On the eve of the exam? Meet the game charges in Internet cafes? Or do my brothers and sisters sleep in my bunk bed?
What I miss more is the delicious food such as "Wuhan vegetable cake", "smoothie mung bean soup", "preserved egg and lean meat porridge" and "qianlixiang wonton" at the gate of our school. A street in the north gate of the campus is a food street. The university is in Kaifeng, which is also a famous night market city. In the summer night, when you walk in the street, you can eat and stroll all the way. That's the rhythm that you can eat half a street and one street is enough.
Seven years after graduation, I have never been back to my alma mater. Zhengzhou is close to Kaifeng, but it is always like this. The closer I get, the more I feel I won't lose it. After neglecting to meet, you will find that when you look back and want to relive it, it is too late.
Last year, I heard that the campus had a new community and moved collectively. The place where we were at that time had become a deserted place, and the campus was empty, not to mention the snack street in front of us. Now, there seems to be no trace of prosperity in the past.
While regretting that I didn't expect to see it for seven years, I feel that everything in the world is changeable. People and things around you should spend more time with each other, and don't fall under the spell of "knowing how to cherish after losing".
People and food are the same. When you fail her, it may be boring to look for her again. Cherish the present and the taste will be good.

I said at the beginning that although I am not a typical foodie, I have a lot to say about food. When I received Qiao Jia's new book Eat a Broccoli, she gave me a gift: a set of exquisite wooden tableware, a spoon and a pair of chopsticks. I promised to write a book review for her, but I kept putting it off for various reasons.
So, in order to express my apologies, I wrote this long article. At the same time, I also want to thank Georgia and her book. Every story in her book is full of delicacy and artistic conception of "human touch" and "oil, salt, vinegar and hops".
When I first saw it, I felt particularly grounded, as if she were talking about people and things around you. Those delicious foods such as Nianweier, Spring Cake, Tangyuan, fragrant tea, coffee and ice cream seem to be all on the table, just waiting for you to move your chopsticks. However, after reading it again, you will find that, in fact, those beautiful people and delicious food are gradually leaving us, and gradually become the taste in memory, which is no longer easy for you to touch. Some of them have become the most beautiful people in our memory, and some have become the most fragrant meals.
I finally understand why the title of this book should be changed from "Delicious is Human Feelings" to "Enjoy a Broccoli".
Because Qiao Jia wants to tell you:
Similarly,
In the face of good people, we just need to indulge in getting along.
Cherish the present,
