I have read that Louisiana is one of the three places in the United States with complete cuisine, and the other two are Texas-Mexican cuisine and San Francisco and California cuisine.
I can think of a unique food in Louisiana:
Gumbo is a soup with brown to almost black wheat flour as the base, called batter (sweet to bitter batter). Okra can be made from Green Party (Okra Buddha), smoked chicken/Turkey and andouillie sausage, or seafood soup is made from a crab (best), shrimp base, including seasonings (onion, sweet pepper, celery), shrimp, lobster, oyster, lump crab meat, and spices with complex flavors including pepper and black pepper, salt, thyme, oregano, marjoram and sometimes rosemary. The thickness of soup varies from close to stewed soup to close to soup, which is a matter of personal preference.
Couch on Dalai: Translated directly from French, it means "milk pig", which means suckling pig. This name has been handed down, but these pigs are no longer suckling pigs. Although they are still young pigs, they are much bigger. They are cooked in an open pit made of charcoal or hardwood, and there is a reflecting surface behind the pit, such as tin or steel plate. This is dubbed the French microwave oven. Just like cooking crayfish, crabs or shrimps, Couch on Dalai is usually an activity that many people will participate in.
boil crayfish. Crayfish is a local crustacean, which looks like crayfish. They are smaller, more common and cheaper than crustaceans in France and Sweden. They are boiled in water with pepper, salt, onion, lemon and some oil and essence. We can cook hundreds of pounds of crayfish. Two bags weighing 25-35 pounds are considered as a small boil. We usually think that a person should eat 6 pounds of crayfish, but if it is a big event, some people don't eat it, so you reduce it to an average of 3 pounds. They are put in a 3-to 15-quart pot, cooked in a gas or propane stove, and there are bigger pots that can cook hundreds of pounds of food for the party.
Blue crabs and shrimps in Louisiana are cooked with spices similar to crayfish. We often cook shrimps and crabs together in summer and crayfish together in spring.
okra can be made of various vegetables (green okra), smoked chicken/turkey and Andoui sausage, as well as seafood okra made of crab meat or shrimp broth, including crayfish oil and shrimp tail, shrimp, oysters and crab meat pieces.
Creole shrimp is a stewed shrimp soup with tomatoes as the main ingredient.
Crayfish soup can be made of flour paste or pure butter (I prefer pure butter with wine myself).
Crayfish thick soup, which is made of a soup material different from gumbo soup. Crayfish chowder is made a bit like New England chowder, which is filled with crayfish heads. It is rarely made now, because the preparation process takes almost two days.
Grilliades and gr cereal is made of beef, pork or veal. Bees are traditional, but they are all delicious.
In fact, this list can go on. You can taste the delicious food in Louisiana and gain a lot. I realize now that I have given you a food list that we often prepare for large group activities.
