5. Mange Buddhist Temple
Mange Buddhist Temple is located in the north of Lancang River Bridge in Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture. It is called "Wamange" in Dai language, which means central Buddhist Temple. It was founded in 1477 and is the oldest Buddhist temple building in Jinghong City. The temple is close to Mangezhai, not far from the river, surrounded by bamboo buildings of Dai nationality and tall broad-leaved trees such as bodhi, mango and betel nut. It is a typical southern Hinayana Buddhist temple. The scale of the temple is magnificent. The main temple is supported by 18 Toona sinensis wooden columns with a height of 8 meters and a thickness of 4 centimeters. The beam frames are all bucket-arch buildings with heads connected, and 16 carved elephants stand on the eaves of the temple. During the construction of the whole temple, whether it is a beam frame or a bucket arch, it is all connected by tenons, without nailing and riveting, and the shape is very beautiful.
6. Manfeilong Pagoda
Manfeilong Pagoda is located in Manfeilong Village, Menglong Township, Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture. It was built in 123 and consists of a main tower and eight small towers. Because of its shape like bamboo shoots, it is called "Tanuo Zhuanglong" (big-headed bamboo shoot pagoda) in Dai language. Because it is as white as snow, it is also called Feilong White Pagoda. It is a group of King Kong throne-style pagodas, with unique shape, beautiful outline, grand scale, long history and charming architectural style, which is an excellent place to understand Buddhist architectural culture and worship Buddha.
There are 9 pagodas built on the top of the mountain, and the tower base is in the shape of a plum blossom with multiple petals. The main tower is 16.29 meters high, surrounded by eight small towers, distributed at eight angles, each small tower is 9.1 meters high, and the tower is a multi-layer gourd shape. A mother tower, eight sub-towers, at first glance, looks like a bunch of strong and tall bamboos, but also like thick bamboo shoots rising from the ground, magnificent. There is a niche in each small tower. There is a Buddha sculpture and a Buddha statue in the niche. There is also a clay phoenix flying in the sky, and there are two clay dragons at the door. On the top of eight small golden towers, each tower is hung with a bronze Buddha symbol, and there is a bronze "heavenly flute" on the top of the mother tower, and the mountain wind blows to make a tinkling sound. There are all kinds of paintings, sculptures and beauty on the tower.
7. Dai Garden
The Dai Garden is located in the Olive Dam in Xishuangbanna, and there are five best-preserved Dai natural villages in China. There are Mansongman Ancient Buddhist Temple, Dai Village, Splashing Square and Open-air Theater in the Dai Garden. Mansongman Ancient Buddhist Temple has a history of more than 14 years, and it is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Xishuangbanna. It mainly displays Buddhist cultural activities, such as chanting Buddhist scriptures and worshipping Buddha. In the Dai village, you can visit the Dai folk houses and courtyard scenery. Olive dam is only 53 meters above sea level, which is the lowest elevation in Xishuangbanna and the hottest climate. The hot climate has brought rich products to Olive Dam, where there are many kinds of tropical fruits, besides fresh fruits, a large number of preserved fruits are also produced, so fruit and preserved fruit markets can be seen everywhere in Olive Dam.
8. Mandian Waterfall
Mandian Waterfall is located on Mandian River in Mandian Village, Gadong Township, Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture. The waterfall is divided into three parts: left, middle and right. The water curtain on the left side is wide and surging, and the waterfall water flows down at any time. The water curtain in the middle is smaller than that on the left and right sides, and it will become a trickle in the dry season. The waterfall is about 15 meters wide and the drop is about 25 meters. The waterfall falls from a height and rushes into a deep valley, making a deafening sound. Both sides of the waterfall are densely shaded, and the tall evergreen broad-leaved trees cover the sky. Gu Teng climbs and hangs on the tall trees. The Mandian River winds like a snow chain in the green, and the riverbed suddenly "breaks down". The river flows down from nearly 3 meters high, forming a water drop, and the snow-white water curtain hangs high in the valley rainforest like a curtain.
This is a primeval forest, with typical valley rainforest vegetation on both sides of the riverbed, and the rock roof hung by waterfalls, which is covered by ancient trees and densely shaded. There are complex and diverse forest layers on both sides of the waterfall, and evergreen broad-leaved trees are tall and straight, vying for light and heat, and spreading branches and leaves at the top; The middle layer is a growing tree world; The undergrowth is overgrown with shrubs, and Gu Teng vines are intertwined with big trees, pulling small trees, forming a Pai Valley forest landscape.
9. Wild Elephant Valley
Wild Elephant Valley is located in Mengyang Nature Reserve, which is located in the river valley at the junction of the eastern and western forest areas. In this millions of acres of tropical rain forest, there are many kinds of plants, with green layers and gloomy layers. The tropical bamboo forests are connected into a picture of the Wild Elephant Valley, which provides the most suitable habitat for Asian elephants and other wild animals to grow and reproduce. 1. Mengbala Kingdom Garden
Mengbala Kingdom Garden is a tourist attraction with unique ethnic scenery. The garden is built in Olive Dam. The whole garden brings together the natural landscape and human landscape of Xishuangbanna, and integrates the history, culture, religion and ethnic customs of the Dai people. There are coconut trees, areca trees, banana trees, mango trees, anchovies, bamboos and other plants in the park, as well as the Great Buddha Temple, the sixth Buddha capital of the Dai minority, which is majestic and solemn. There are more than ten distinctive pagodas and different sculptures and reliefs around the Great Buddha Temple, which show the legend of Dai Genesis. In the restored ancient kingdom of Mengbalanaxi, there are Dai king's parliamentary hall, palace hall, guest house, imperial garden and slave workshop residence. You can watch the court dances of the ancient Dai nationality, taste the royal meals, visit Dai brocade, squeeze powder, cook meals, train elephants, play with snakes and feed peacocks.
11. Jingzhen Octagonal Pavilion
The Octagonal Pavilion is a Buddhist building and an integral part of Vallazza Beach, a Buddhist temple in the center of Jingzhen area. Jingzhen octagonal pavilion is a brick-wood structure with octagonal shape. The pavilion has 31 inclined planes, inlaid with colored glass, and printed with gold and silver powder with various patterns of flowers, animals and figures, which are dazzling under the sunlight.
In ancient times, the Bajiao Pavilion was a discussion pavilion. On the 15th and 3th of each month in the Dai calendar, Buddhist monks in Jingzhen area gathered in the pavilion to listen to the monks' teachings and agree on major religious activities. This is a place where important daily affairs are handled, and it is also a place where monks are promoted to Buddha. At the top of the mountain about two miles north of the octagonal pavilion, there stands a stupa, which is far opposite to the octagonal pavilion. Between the Jingzhen Buddhist Temple and the octagonal pavilion, there is a huge ancient bodhi tree, and the tall and straight trunk needs several people to embrace it, which embellishes the beautiful scenery of the octagonal pavilion.
The pavilion room has four doors, east, south, west and north, and the facade is also painted with patterns with rich national characteristics. The main entrance is arched, and there is a scroll niche above the arch to worship a bronze Buddha statue. On the two doors made of red piles, Dai-style sunflower and Shuanglong twisted tail patterns are carved respectively. There is a wooden ladder connected to the stone steps in front of the door, and a lion and a dragon stand on each side. The lion bares its teeth and claws, the dragon shakes its head and wags its tail, and the shapes of the dragon and the lion are lifelike. The exterior wall of the pavilion is inlaid with mirrors and stained glass, which shines with extraordinary splendour from time to time, making the octagonal pavilion even more magnificent.
12. Mengjinglai Scenic Area
"Mengjinglai" is a Dai language, "Meng" is a village, and "Jinglai" is the shadow of a dragon. Mengjinglai Scenic Area is located in Menghai County. The clear Daluo River flows from the west side of the village, forming a natural border, and the other side of the river is neighboring Myanmar. Mengjinglai tourist scenic spot is a typical traditional Dai village, which has frequent contacts with the Shan border people in Myanmar and intermarried with each other, forming a rare phenomenon of Dai and Shan living together. Mengjinglai has maintained the traditional cultural characteristics of border ethnic minorities, and more than 4 people in the village believe in Buddhism (Hinayana Buddhism). There is a Buddhist temple in the village. Mengjinglai used to be the religious and cultural center on the border between China and Myanmar. The Tallinn, Shenshu and Shenquan in the village all have a history of being a Yoyo. When festivals come, believers will come here to seek Buddhist scriptures, reaching more than 3, people at its peak. Because of its special geographical location and long-standing traditional culture, Mengjinglai has formed a special position in the minds of the Dai people and is called "the first village in China and Myanmar".
13. Single-tree forest
Single-tree forest is located next to Manzhangzhai in the border trade zone of Daluo Town, Menghai County, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture. Single-tree forest is an ancient banyan tree with more than 9 years' age, a tree height of more than 7 meters and a tree area of 12 square meters. Its branches and leaves are both like a fence and a green barrier, which has become a great wonder in the tropical rain forest, breaking the "single thread can't make it". In addition to the trunk, those big banyan trees also gave birth to many columns of root cutting from the branches, and the roots of the columns turned into another tree, forming a spectacular scene of trees growing and roots connecting.
14. Daluo Forest Park
Daluo Forest Park is located in Manjing Mountain, Daluo Town, Menghai County, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture. It is a border park opened in 1997, covering an area of 1 million square meters.
