Shanxi has a long and narrow terrain, more than 680 kilometers long from north to south. Eating habits vary greatly. Shanxi people love to eat jiaozi, but they eat jiaozi in different ways. Jiaozi, a pig and mutton from Jinzhong and Jinbei, is the mainstream. Except for Jinbei steamed dumplings, most of them are cooked and put on plates for everyone to eat together, and they are also served with aged vinegar. However, when I arrived in Jinnan, the situation was completely different. I often go to Yuncheng. Eating jiaozi is different from eating in Taiyuan. Pork and mutton in Taiyuan are the mainstream, while beef and jiaozi in Yongji are the characteristics. Taiyuan is put on a plate for everyone to eat, Yuncheng is a bowl for everyone, and everyone eats their own food; Taiyuan eats dry jiaozi, and Yongji is glutinous rice balls; Taiyuan is a must for Ninghua vinegar, but Yuncheng doesn't pay attention to rice vinegar.
But Yuncheng is not small, and the way of eating in Salt Lake District and Yongji is different. In Yuncheng, I have eaten jiaozi. I remember that it was a handmade jiaozi store. Its storefront is unremarkable and its decoration is far from perfect, but its business is very good. It's called Old Yuncheng Handmade jiaozi, which is on Du Yu Avenue. Xi 'an also has a dumpling feast, which is famous and delicious. A large quantity is affordable, and shredded pork soup is good. There used to be a chef jiaozi across the cloud, which was not bad. Later, he moved and never went there again. In addition, there are several self-service jiaozi stores in Yuncheng. Choose according to your own needs. Hotels in Nanfeng Square are relatively concentrated, and Ma Shi seems to have moved to Nanfeng.
Besides Yuncheng, I would also like to talk about Yongji beef jiaozi. The first time I ate it was ten years ago, when Xiaoxue had not moved. She often went to Xiaoxue to buy jiaozi and brought it back to Taiyuan to eat. Yongji's beef jiaozi is very delicious. It's glutinous rice balls, and each one has a bowl. Xiaoxue is the most famous one. After moving, it became bigger, which led to many jiaozi stores around. Besides Xiaoxue, Jia Jianmin Dumpling House is also famous, but I haven't been there, so it's not easy to compare. Now that the snow is heavy, I am going to open a branch in Taiyuan High-tech Zone. I always think that jiaozi in Yuncheng is more delicious than Taiyuan. Although I'm from Taiyuan, it's not just jiaozi. Yuncheng rice has its own characteristics, its own style and many exclusive dishes, which are much more delicious than Taiyuan rice. I am telling the truth.

The original jiaozi in Yuncheng was Yongji beef jiaozi, which can often be seen on the street. It is said that they are all opened by Yongji people, and they are delicious. In jiaozi, there was a famous jiaozi store across the street during the old Universiade. At that time, the place was very small, with two floors up and down, and the diners were full every day. Later, it moved to the opposite side of the Yellow River Diversion Bureau, and the place was enlarged, so it was possible to host banquets, but jiaozi was still the mainstay.
However, a few years ago, I heard that there was a small shop in Fuxi Street that sold jiaozi. Many sharp-tongued people often drive to that old street, buy two chopped green onion cakes from the door, ask for a big bowl of jiaozi, and drink profusely. There seems to be one opposite Nanjie Primary School. I heard that it is run by a family.
Steamed dumplings first appeared in Yuncheng Hotel, and now they are located in the north corner of the northeast corner of Zhonglou Community. Now they are gone. I ate a cage of steamed dumplings at that time, which was really delicious! Thin skin and big stuffing, bite a mouthful of oil, tut tut!
