Nanshe Traditional Culture Season

This year, Chashan also held Nanshe Traditional Culture Month with the tea garden tour as an opportunity. In addition to the May Day holiday, every weekend in May, Cantonese opera and Tai Chi performances will be held in Nanshe Ancient Village. Citizens and tourists can also experience wearing ancient costumes in the ancient village, taste local snacks in the food lane, or enjoy special theme cultural exhibitions in ancestral halls and homestays.

Chashan has set up several exhibitions in Nanshe Ancient Village in Ming and Qing Dynasties, so that we can feel the cultural charm of the ancient village together!

Theme: "Fuhai Shoushan" Shou Culture Exhibition, which shows the development of China Shou culture and the filial piety culture of Nanshe.

Location: Xie Yuqi's Temple

Theme: "Accomplishing the Frontier" —— The exhibition of Xie Yuqi's life, which depicts and shows the legendary life of Xie Yuqi, a general of Jianwei, who is determined to serve the country and go to the frontier, and creates a position for patriotic education.

International Tea Day

In the middle and late May, Chashan Town will also take the opportunity of the International Tea Day to launch a series of activities of the International Tea Day in Nanshe Ming and Qing ancient villages, tea culture libraries and tea trading markets. Through tea culture lectures, tea performances, tea culture exhibitions, cooperative tea culture exchanges and exhibitions between the East and the West, tea culture will be promoted, so that more people can enter Chashan, feel the culture of Chashan and polish tea.

At the launching ceremony, there will be unique teams in the city, such as Qingxi unicorn dance, Da Lang puppet show, Cantonese opera and Wing Chun Boxing, as well as dragon and lion team, story performance team and parent-child Hanfu performance team.

(1) Qingxi unicorn dance

The traditional unicorn dance performance focuses on seeking green, scaring green, smelling green, trying green, picking green, eating green, spitting green, swallowing green, and expressing its emotions such as joy, anger, sadness and joy. It is a dance to ward off evil and avoid harm, and welcome happiness and happiness. Kirin is a symbol of good luck, and dancing Kirin carries the ideals of generations of people. This project was recognized as the fourth batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage projects in Guangdong Province in 2112.

(2) Puppet Show

Puppet Show is a drama in which actors manipulate puppets to perform stories. Puppet Show in Da Lang began in Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty. In ancient times, the stick-head puppet was called "the stick-head puppet", which was manipulated by a wooden stick. It was empty inside, with its eyes and mouth movable. It was equipped with three joysticks, one supporting its head and body, and two touching its hands. The performer mastered two joysticks in one hand to perform, so it was also called "lifting the puppet". Dalang Town Xiangtou Puppet Troupe, with exquisite sculpture, vivid image, vivid action and both form and spirit, is deeply loved by the audience.

(3) Wing Chun Boxing

Wing Chun Boxing is an excellent traditional folk martial arts originated in Lingnan area, and it is the same as the five boxing styles of "Hong, Liu, Cai, Li and Mo" in Guangdong Province. After a hundred years of inheritance, it is recognized as the essence of Nanquan by the southern martial arts community.

(4) Cantonese Opera (program name: Qiaochun Caodou County Official)

Cantonese Opera, also known as "Guangdong Opera" or "Grand Opera", has a deep mass base in Dongguan, and is a performing art that combines singing with playing, musicians' music, stage costumes and abstract forms. Dongguan is known as the "hometown of Cantonese opera". "Qiao Chun Cao Dou Xian Guan" tells a humorous story about how Chuncao Girl and Xian Guan fought with each other on their way back to Xiangguo!
