Shatou Town is located in Jiujiang Town, Nanhai District, Foshan City, and is the jurisdiction of Nanhai, one of the famous "Four Little Tigers in Guangdong".
Shatou originated in the Song Dynasty, which belonged to Ding 'an Capital in the early Qing Dynasty, Shatou Fort in Jiujiang Hall and Shatou Township in the Republic of China. In 1961, it was a small Shatou commune in Jiujiang District, and was merged into Jiujiang commune in 1961. In August 198, it was separated from Jiujiang commune. In 1983, the community was changed to a district, and in 1987, the district was removed to build a town. The town covers an area of 21.5 square kilometers (Shangen Village originally belonged to Shatou Town and has been managed by Xiqiao Town since 199s), and it has jurisdiction over an urban area and seven village committees.
