The development of a foodie

Unknowingly, after twenty years of development, my family finally raised a full-fledged foodie.

When my son was born, he weighed only six pounds, had thin arms and legs, and sparse hair. He looked malnourished. He was a picky eater when he was little, and I was often annoyed that he wouldn't eat the food I carefully selected and prepared.

In this way, my son maintained his bean sprout-like figure until the fourth grade of elementary school. It is said that at that time, his father had just returned from abroad. I don’t know whether it was because his father was trying various delicacies to tempt him all day long or because the child had an appetite at that age. Wide open, anyway, starting in the fourth grade of elementary school, my picky eater started to eat big meals, and it felt like that.

Just like that, in the sixth grade, my son actually grew a belly, his cheeks were bulging, and his face was red and healthy. As I am busy cooking every day, I also feel that my child is easy to feed. As long as I put in a little effort, he can eat enough for every meal.

When my son was in high school, especially in his senior year, I paid more attention to nutrition. My son loved steamed buns, so in addition to several dishes and soups, there were also various steamed bun rolls and the like on the dining table. , fried, steamed, boiled, stir-fried, it can also be said that my son’s senior year of high school is a critical year for my cooking skills to improve rapidly!

Due to the intense study and high-intensity pace of life, the 1.75-meter son weighs 140 pounds. Although he is not thin, he still looks strong and strong. Regardless of his academic performance, his physical fitness should still be good. .

After my son’s college entrance examination, he really let himself go! Without the pressure, the child's appetite is even stronger, and his pursuit and yearning for eating make me envious. Breakfast used to consist of an egg pancake and a cup of soy milk, but now he said he wanted to eat a deluxe version of the egg pancake. After listening carefully, he realized that luxury was reflected in one pancake with two eggs, ham and steak. One morning he even came Two deluxe editions, my appetite is really a bit jaw-dropping.

Last year was my son’s first summer vacation after college. He wanted to practice driving. As I was losing weight, I picked up various kitchen tools and practiced cooking skills to show my mother’s great love. As a result, I regained the weight I had lost and my son's weight soared again.

Even though we, mother and son, are extremely annoyed after getting on the scale every day, we still don’t want to let down the delicious food!

This holiday, my son seems to have gained weight again. His weight is not easy to report. Every time before eating, he says to me: The dishes you cooked today are very delicious. I will go out for a few laps after eating. !

However, after eating, I would either lie down on the sofa or go upstairs to practice in seclusion. I repeatedly reminded you politely: It is easy to gain weight, but it is not easy to lose weight! My son will also find reasons: Don’t worry, I will lose weight when I go to work in the future and I will be busy!

After hearing this, I was speechless. Losing weight requires determination and perseverance. Only the person involved understands the hardships and pain. Fat will not disappear just because of busyness and tiredness. This is what my gluttonous son thought. How naive!

On one side is the love from the mother, trying to find ways to make up for her debt to her children when they were young; on the other side is the worry from the mother, how can you control your life if you don't control your weight?

Every time I see my son’s appetite at the dinner table, I quietly swallow all the nagging and worries. No matter what, as long as he is willing to eat, I will do it! Only when you are full can you be busy studying and living!
