The largest, best and most comprehensive one should be the Shanghai Bookstore at the intersection of Fuzhou Road and Hubei Province. There are many bookstores in Wenhua Street, Fuzhou Road. In addition to Shanghai Bookstore, there are professional bookstores such as Shanghai Bookstore, Shanghai Ancient Books Bookstore, Shanghai Science and Technology Bookstore (Shanghai Music Bookstore) and Shanghai Foreign Language Bookstore. In addition, some small bookstores on both sides of the road offer great discounts.

The most comprehensive English textbook should be the bookstore of Shanghai International Studies University in Dalian West Road at the entrance of Shanghai International Studies University. Generally, new books are not discounted, but there are discount counters.

The university bookstore next to Fudan also sells discounted English books, at the Wudong intersection of Guoding Road.

There is a 20% discount on new books and magazines in the Confucian Temple, and a minimum of 30% discount on big books such as martial arts novels and old books.

There is a book wholesale market at No.8 Memorial Road, which was moved from Qianhu Road in Wujiaochang. It is famous, and the discount is beyond your imagination. I bought a set of Complete Works of China History, but it was only 1.5 discount. A set of books in the bookstore outside for several thousand yuan won't be more than 30% off here, and English textbooks don't feel anything. Only four or five of them specialize in foreign language books, which is basically 20% off.
