People in China think that even numbers are auspicious and odd numbers are ominous, so ordering food is taboo.
The general order of Chinese food is: appetizer-main course-dessert.
Appetizer: usually a large platter consisting of four kinds of cold pots. Sometimes as many as ten kinds. The most representative are cold jellyfish skin and preserved eggs. Sometimes there are many cold pots, and then four kinds of hot pots are produced. The common ones are fried shrimp and fried chicken. However, hot tubs are mostly omitted.
Main course: Immediately after the appetizer, it is also called Daiwa.
