Dongfanghong -3 diesel locomotive is one of the diesel locomotives for passenger transport in China and one of the representative models of the second generation diesel locomotives in China. Dongfanghong 3 diesel locomotive was trial-produced by Qingdao Sifang Locomotive and Rolling Stock Factory in 197 1 and put into production in 1976. It was the main diesel locomotive for northeast passenger transport from 1980 to 1990, and 1988 produced 268 diesel locomotives.
