Description of the problem:
I'm from the south, and I bought some bagged pancakes when I traveled to Shandong. But we won't eat them. There are a few questions:
1. The bagged pancakes are very hard thin pancakes. Are real pancakes that hard? I feel like the pancakes should be as soft as the thin skin used for sliced Peking duck (a wild guess).
2. Is the pancake rolled with garlic or shallots?
Now we eat it this way for the time being: just use the hard pancake, put some sauce on it and sprinkle a little bit of green onion cut into chopped scallions, and roll it up to eat. But the visual texture is so hard, can you really eat like this?
Analysis:
Use scallions. Don't use garlic. If you like garlic, that's fine. Drizzle water on top of the pancake before eating, and wait until it softens. It's recommended that you roll it in green onions and soy sauce, that's the original way to eat it. The modern way is to roll it in meat sauce, green onions, fried potatoes, and chili oil. ...... Damn drooling~~~~~~~~enjoy it~~~~:)
