1. Dandong, a prefecture-level city in Liaoning Province, is located in the southeast of Liaoning Province. It faces Xinyizhou City in the east across the river, the Yellow Sea in the south, Anshan in the west, Dalian City in the southwest, and Dalian City in the north. It borders Benxi City. The geographical coordinates are between 123°22′ and 125°42′ east longitude and between 39°43′ and 41°09′ north latitude. The maximum horizontal distance from east to west is 196 kilometers, the maximum vertical distance from north to south is 160 kilometers, the coastline is 120 kilometers long, and the total area is 15,222 square kilometers.

2. Dandong is the northern end of China’s coastline. It is located in the center of Northeast Asia. It is an important intersection between the Northeast Asia economic circle and the Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea economic circles. It is an industrial, commerce, logistics , cities along rivers, coasts and border areas with tourism as the main body are national-level border cooperation zones, national key border development and opening pilot zones, and coastal open cities.
