Guillow fish is suitable for freshwater aquaculture.
Guillow fish like to inhabit rivers, lakes, reservoirs and other water bodies with lush and cleaner water plants, and live in suitable water temperature of 15 to 32 ℃. Belong to the completely freshwater life of the fish, like to live in rivers, lakes, reservoirs and other water bodies with lush clean water, usually lurking underwater during the day, and at night around the activities of foraging, living in the appropriate water temperature of 15 to 32 ℃.
But some scholars have also shown that within the range of 10 to 25 ℃, as the temperature rises, Siniperca chuatsi's specific growth rate increases with the rise in temperature, while between 25 to 35 ℃ there is no significant change. When the water temperature of 35℃ was reached, the growth of Siniperca chuatsi was not significantly slowed down. This is not consistent with the general findings on the relationship between fish and water temperature, i.e., within a certain temperature range, the feeding rate and growth rate of fish increase with the increase of water temperature, and when the water temperature exceeds the optimum water temperature, the feeding rate and growth rate of fish will instead decrease.
Guillowfish growth habit
Guillowfish is a typical carnivorous fish, mainly eating some small fish of little economic value, small shrimp and small crustaceans. It has a well-developed dorsal fin that occupies almost the entire back, 12 sharp, hard spines in the front and 3 hard spines in the anal fin, the fish has a brighter yellow body color and many irregular black markings, and its scales are fine and rounded.
It uses the pattern of the body as a protective color, often inhabits the slow-flowing and grassy coastal waters of the lower layer, sometimes lurking in the mud caves, peeping to ingest food, and once the target is found, it will be quietly swimming close to the right time, and then attacked in a lightning fast manner. The fish is mostly overwintered in deep water in winter.
