1. Different families and genera. Agave belongs to agave family, agave genus. Aloe belongs to the genus Aloe in Liliaceae.
2. The leaves are different. Although the leaves of agave are fleshy, after the leaves are broken, there are thin ridges inside, which will not flow out juice and look opaque. After aloe leaves are broken, there is no tendon, and yellow sticky juice will flow out, and the fleshy part is crystal clear.
3. Leaves are produced in different ways. Agave is the outermost leaf covering the inner leaf, which is conical and grows outward layer by layer. Aloe vera and lobules are separated, and the innermost leaves can be seen clearly.
4. Thorns are different. Agave leaves are hard and sharp, with barbed edges and a hard dark brown thorn at the top of the leaves. The thorn of aloe is not as hard as the former. Its thorns grow on both sides, getting smaller and smaller as they go up.
