The method of growing bean sprouts at home is as follows:
Ingredients: 20 grams of soybeans, appropriate amount of water.
1. Pick out the bad beans from an appropriate amount of soybeans and soak them in water for two days, changing the water every day.
2. After the beans sprout, move them to a vegetable basket with a leaky mesh. I personally use a double-layered one, one layer with a leaky mesh and one layer with an ordinary one. Cover it with a layer of kitchen paper and soak it in water for one minute every day. Pour away the water and keep the kitchen paper moist.
3. Repeat the soaking step every day, and the bean sprouts will be ready to eat in basically five days to a week.
Precautions for growing bean sprouts
1. Select bean species: Choose bean species suitable for sprouting, such as mung beans, soybeans, soybeans, etc. Make sure the beans you choose are of good quality and free of pests, diseases, and mold.
2. Clean the beans: Rinse the selected beans with clean water to remove impurities and dirt.
3. Soaking: Put the washed beans into a container and add enough water to soak them. The soaking time of beans varies depending on the bean type, but is usually around 8-12 hours. During the soaking period, change the water approximately every 2-3 hours to keep the water clean.
4. Prepare the container: Choose an appropriate container, such as a germinator, bottle or pot, etc. The container should be breathable to facilitate the circulation and drainage of moisture.
5. Arrange the beans: Spread the soaked beans evenly in the container and do not pile them up too much.
6. Lighting conditions: Bean sprouts have certain requirements for light. Place them in a place with natural light and avoid places that are too dark or with too much direct sunlight.
7. Keep it moist: Keeping the bean growing environment moist is the key to sprouting bean sprouts. Keep the beans moist by periodically misting them with water or soaking them. At the same time, avoid excess moisture to prevent mold growth.
