Dachshund is a kind of wax dog with short legs and long body. Its name comes from Germany, which means "badger dog". This species has developed to sniff wax, track and kill badgers and other burrowing animals. Interestingly, although "dachshund" is a German word, it is not commonly used in Germany. Germans usually call it Dackel or Teckel.
