1, vole
Compared with other mice, MICROTUS voles are stronger, shorter in tail and smaller in eyes and ears than other rodents. Microvoles can live in a variety of environments.
Most of them are terrestrial species. They dig underground passages or make nests in cracks under fallen trees, roots and rocks. Some activities during the day, some activities at night, and some activities around the clock.
2. Crown rat
The hair on the crown mouse is long, sometimes it will stand up to form a crown, and the hair on the tail of the crown mouse is also long, weighing up to 2.5 kg, and it seems that the tail is thicker than other hamsters. The crown mouse is stout, similar to a guinea pig, weighing up to 2.5 kilograms, and is the largest member of the suborder Rodentica.
The crown mouse hides in the cave during the day and climbs to the tree for food at night. Although its body looks heavy, its climbing skills are superb.
3. Hamster
Hamsters, except hamsters distributed in Central Asia, have cheek pouches on both cheeks, which can temporarily store food in the mouth and transport it to the cave for storage, so they are also called hamsters and warehouses.
The eyes are small, the ears are hairy, and the ear shell is exposed. The body length ranges from 50 mm to 340 mm, with short legs, wide feet and short tail. Temperate terrestrial animals are most common in open areas.
4. Bamboo rat
Named after eating bamboo, it mainly feeds on bamboo, Miscanthus and plant stalks. Bamboo rats mainly inhabit tropical and subtropical forests, shrubs and bamboo forests in eastern Africa and southern Asia. The bamboo rat has been cultivated on a large scale in China and has become one of the farming industries with economic benefits.
5. Roof rat
The roof rat has a slender figure, its tail is longer than its body length, its ears are big and thin, and its hind feet are thin and long. There are two main color types: black type and brown type, black type with black back hair and lead-gray belly hair, and brown type with dark gray-brown back hair and gray-white belly hair.
