Approved in accordance with the authority of appointment and removal of officers. However, the promotion of the following ranks of officers shall be approved in accordance with the following provisions:

(a) deputy division (brigade) officers promoted to senior colonel, professional and technical officers promoted to senior colonel, major general, lieutenant general, approved by chairman of the Central Military Commission;

(2) The promotion of professional and technical officers to colonel shall be approved by the heads of the headquarters, major military regions, arms and services of the People's Liberation Army or other units equivalent to major military regions;

(3) If an officer at the deputy battalion level is promoted to a major, and a professional and technical officer is promoted to a major or lieutenant colonel, it shall be approved by the head of the group army or other units at the corps level that have the power to appoint and dismiss officers.
