1-2 digits of the ID number indicate the codes of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government. The 3rd-4th digits represent the codes of prefecture-level cities, leagues and autonomous prefectures, and the 5th-6th digits represent the codes of counties, county-level cities and districts.
The number 7- 14 of the ID number represents the date of birth. For example, 19930824 stands for1993 August 24th, which is the same as the birth number marked on the ID card.

The encoding rules of ID cards are as follows: According to the national standard GB 11643-1999 of People's Republic of China (PRC), the citizenship number is a characteristic combination code, which consists of 17-bit ontology code and1bit check code.
The serial code (ID number 15 to 17) is the distribution code of the police station under the jurisdiction of the county and district government. The distribution code of each police station is 10 continuous numbers, such as "000-009" or "060-069", where odd numbers are male distribution codes and even numbers are female distribution codes. In case there are more than two people on the same day of the same year, the second, third and sixth days will be postponed.
For example, 005 is a boy, and there are at least two boys born in the same year. The last four of them are 00 1* and 003*. The four serial numbers "999, 998, 997 and 996" in the distribution sequence code are special numbers for men and women over 100 years old.
