First, edema. Because there is superior vena cava on the right side of mediastinum, venous blood of upper limbs and head and neck returns to the heart. When the tumor invades the right mediastinum and compresses the superior vena cava, the venous reflux is not smooth, resulting in edema of the face and neck.

Second, there is blood in the sputum. Because lung cancer cells invade blood vessels or rupture small blood vessels, hemoptysis and blood in sputum appear.

Third, headaches. Intracranial hypertension or brain injury caused by lung cancer cells transferring to the brain, leading to headache, visual impairment or personality and temper changes.

Fourth, hoarse voice. Hoarseness is the most common symptom in patients with advanced lung cancer. The recurrent laryngeal nerve, which controls the left pronunciation function, goes down from the neck to the chest, bypasses the great vessels of the heart and goes up to the throat, thus dominating the left side of the pronunciation organ.

Five, shortness of breath, pleural effusion. Almost all patients with advanced lung cancer with regional spread have shortness of breath. Normal tissue fluid produced by lung and myocardium flows back through lymph nodes in the middle of chest. These lymph nodes are blocked by tumors, and these tissue fluids will accumulate in the pericardium to form pericardial effusion or accumulate in the chest cavity to form pleural effusion.
