"Barking Chicken" is a specialty of Changshu, Jiangsu Province. It is a chicken stolen by some poor refugees (or beggars), who wrapped the chicken in mud and set up a fire to burn the mud, and when the mud was hot, the chicken was cooked. That's why it's known as a holler chicken.
The story of the chicken:
The Qianlong Emperor was on a trip to the south of the Yangtze River, but was stranded in the wilderness. There was a beggar who saw his pity, so he gave him the chicken which he thought was good food to eat. Emperor Qianlong sleepy and hungry, naturally feel that the chicken is exceptionally tasty. After eating, they asked the name of this food, the head of the caller is embarrassed to say that this is called "chicken", said the chicken is called "rich chicken", Qianlong on this chicken praised, the caller only knew afterwards that this bum is the current emperor. This "chicken" also because the emperor's mouth opened, became a "rich chicken". Passed down to this day, became a famous dish on the hall of elegance.
