Home cooking is an emotional drama produced by Beijing Yishang Culture Media Co., Ltd. and Brothers Times Film and Television Culture Communication Co., Ltd., directed by An Jian and starring Huang Zhizhong, Zuo Xiaoqing, Song Chunli and Tanya.

The son-in-law's wife's name is Liu Hongchang, played by Huang Zhizhong, and his wife's name is Wen Hui, played by Zuo Xiaoqing. The play tells the story of Liu Hongchang, the chef of a state-run canteen, who supports his wife's family in distress after her wife Wen Hui dies, and has fulfilled her promise of "in one word, for life" with her life.

Plot:

A city in the early 1980s. Liu Hongchang (Huang Zhizhong), an older young man who works in the state-run No.2 canteen, falls in love with Wen Hui (Zuo Xiaoqing), who gave up the opportunity to go to college because of his poor family.

Although Liu Hongchang's mother (Song Chunli) and brother tried to stop her, Liu Hongchang still married Wen Hui. Wen Hui's younger brother Wen Tao and his younger sister Wen Yuan (Tanya) are also hostile to this brother-in-law.

After Wen Hui's second pregnancy, there was a sudden disaster at home. Seventeen-year-old Wen Yuan left home in anger with Liu Hongchang, and was spoiled by his street hooligans, rhubarb cats.
