The tofu fish and the dragonfish are actually one kind of fish, and the dragonfish is shown in the picture. Tofu fish can be braised, barbecued, fried, peppered and sauteed in a variety of ways.
The depth of the water where the dragonhead fish is found is usually less than 50 meters, and this fish can be seen all year round in the muddy bottom waters. It is a carnivorous fish and mainly eats small fish such as eels, small males, ribbed eels, small sardines, and juvenile yellowtail.
The dragonfish is distributed from the Indian Ocean to the western Pacific Ocean, including the waters of Korea, Japan, the Chinese coast, Taiwan and the eastern Indian Ocean. In China, it is distributed in the southern Yellow Sea, the East China Sea and the estuarine waters of the South China Sea, as well as the southern and western waters of Taiwan.
