Xinyang Maojian, also known as Yu Maofeng, is one of the top ten famous teas in China and one of the famous specialties of Henan Province; its main production areas are in Xihe District (formerly Xinyang City) and Pingqiao District (formerly Xinyang County) and Luoshan County. Created by Han tea farmers. In the early years of the Republic of China, because the five major tea houses in Xinyang tea area produced high-quality Benshan Maojian tea, it was officially named "Xinyang Maojian".
According to the growing season of Xinyang Maojian, local people are accustomed to dividing it into spring tea, summer tea and autumn tea (white dew tea) based on the picking period of fresh leaves. Maojian is an unfermented green tea. The freshly picked leaves cannot be kept overnight. They must be rolled, cooled, dried, cooked, potted and baked on the same day to retain the freshness of the tea to the greatest extent. Xinyang Maojian has the characteristics of "fine, The unique style of "round, light, straight, many pekoe, high aroma, rich taste, and green soup color".
