May, also known as "Gaoyue", is the fifth month in the Gregorian calendar year, and it is a big month with * * * 3 1 day. In the northern hemisphere, May is the third month of spring, and there are two solar terms in this month: long summer and Xiaoman. The festivals in May mainly include May Day International Labor Day, May 4th Youth Day and Mother's Day.
The English name of May probably comes from Maya (called Maius in Latin), the goddess who specializes in spring and life in Roman mythology, or from BonaDea, the goddess who celebrates festivals in May, or from the Latin word maiores (meaning "older people").
