Hog hairy vetch is also known as mountain forked mingke, zapong tree, and sarpong. It is an annual herb of the quinoa family, with a plant height of 30-100 centimeters. Stem erect, basal multi-branched, branch spread light green, striped. Leaves alternate, striped terete, fleshy, hispidulous, apex with a small spiny tip. Inflorescences spikelike, slender, borne on distal part of branches; bracts with stiff needle spines at apex; tepals 5, fruiting with short wings or leathery protuberances dorsally. Utricles obovate, pericarp membranous. Seeds transverse or oblique, embryo curled spirally. Seed reproduction.
