Qu means bend, and nine means a lot, which is a general meaning.
First of all, the first sentence of the ancient poem mentions the "Yellow River with nine bends", which refers to the present Yellow River, the second longest river in China. The east-west length of the basin is1900km, and the north-south width is1100km. It mainly covers nine provinces and regions of Liujing, and the middle reaches pass through the loess high slope with a lot of sediment. Therefore, the Yellow River is also the river with the highest sediment concentration in the world, so it is called "Jiuqu Yellow River Wan Li Sand".
