Most of the adult trees in my country's pear areas adopt a sparsely layered trunk shape. In recent years, in order to adapt to dense planting cultivation and high-quality production, tree shapes have undergone major changes. The tree shapes commonly used in production are as follows:
1. Open-shaped with multiple main branches
Suitable for pear orchards with a density of 3m×5m~4m×6m. The trunk height is 60cm, and the trunk is equipped with 4 to 5 main branches. The opening angle of the main branches is 50° to 60°, with medium branch groups and short fruit branch groups growing directly on it. There is no central trunk, and the tree height is about 3.0m. The tree has good lighting, strong skeleton, high yield and easy management.
2. Single layer and one heart shape
Suitable for pear orchards with a density of 4m×6m and 5m×7m. The stem is 60cm high, with an obvious central stem. There is a layer of main branches staggered below the central stem. There are 3 to 4 main branches. The distance within the layer is 50 to 60cm. The angle between the main branches and the central stem is 55° to 65°. There are 2 side branches on each main branch, and the rest are small and medium branch groups. Instead of cultivating main branches on the central trunk, a large branch group is arranged every 40 to 50cm, and the tree height is 3.5m. This tree shape is an improved tree shape of the original dispersed and layered tree shape, with clear master and subordinate shapes, and is suitable for the transformation of large trees.
3. Y-shape
Suitable for pear orchards with a density of 1~2m×4~5m. The trunk is 40cm high, with two main branches extending between the rows. The base angle of the main branches is 40°~50°, the waist angle is 55°~60°, and the tip angle is 75°~85°. Medium and small branch groups and short fruit branch groups are directly attached to each main branch, and the tree height is controlled at about 2.5m. The tree forms quickly and bears fruit early, which is beneficial to management and improves fruit quality.
4. The tree shape of the shed grid
is suitable for pear orchards with a density of 4~5m×6~7m. The trunk is 50~60cm high, with 4 main branches growing on the trunk. The main branches extend to the four corners, with a base angle of 50° and a waist angle of 70°. The main branches are directly attached to the branch group and tied to the grid. The shed net is about 2.0m away from the ground, and the net cables form a 50cm×50cm grid. In greenhouse cultivation, the canopy expands quickly, forms early, has a large total leaf area in the early stage, high branch utilization, stable tree vigor, good lighting conditions in the canopy, and produces fruits of uniform size and good quality, but the cost of frame materials higher.
