Eating more tomatoes can protect you from the sun. Researchers from the University of Manchester invited 20 adults to participate in a study. Participants were divided into two groups. One group ate 55g tomato sauce and10ml olive oil every day, while the other group only ate olive oil. Three months later, the researchers took skin samples from the participants and analyzed them. It was found that the degree of ultraviolet damage to the skin and hands of people who ate tomato sauce decreased by 33%, presumably because of the role of antioxidants in tomato sauce. However, experts warn that ketchup is only one of the foods that can protect the skin.
In this case, it shows that eating tomatoes is good for the skin and can whiten it.
