Acanthopanax japonicus, also known as Suanjiao, Suanjiou, Tamarind, Tongxue Powder, Luohuangzi, Suanjiao (Hainan) and Mohan (Dai), is a tropical and subtropical evergreen tree of Sumaceae, which contains only Suanjiao 1 species and has two types: sweet type and acid type. Asian ginseng likes hot climate, and can grow normally in areas with annual average temperature of 18oC-24oC and annual rainfall of 500-1200mm.
