The Chinese scientific name of Munai fish is shad, which belongs to a kind of freshwater fish. It lives in the sea, mainly distributed in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and the waters bordering the seawater, and migrates between seawater and fresh water.
This shad has an oval body with a flat side. It is about 24 cm long and the largest is over 50 cm. The requirement for water temperature is relatively high, mainly to eat some plankton.
The shad has the functions of invigorating spleen and lung, promoting blood circulation and reducing swelling, and is mainly used for fatigue, chronic cough and edema. It is not advisable to eat more or longer.
