In ancient China, the four mythical beasts that most frighten the demons and have unlimited power are the Green Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird and Xuanwu. Green Dragon is the god of the East; White Tiger is the god of the West; Vermilion Bird is the god of the South; Xuanwu is the god of the North, turtle and snake. Therefore, there is a "Green Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, Xuanwu, the four spirits of the sky, in order to correct the four directions, the king's system of palaces and pavilions to take the law.
