In the China folk story The Legend of the White Snake, the monk Fahai tricked Xu Xian into going to Jinshan, and the White Snake flooded Jinshan to save Xu Xian, and was taken away by Fahai Town under the Leifeng Pagoda. The old Leifeng Tower collapsed on 1924 and was rebuilt. The newly-built Leifeng Tower is the first colored bronze sculpture tower in China. Lei Feng Sunset is one of the ten scenic spots in West Lake and one of the famous tourist attractions in Hangzhou West Lake. The Leifeng Pagoda was built by Qian Chu, King of Wu Yue, in order to worship the Buddha's hair relics. It was built in the second year of Taiping and Xingguo in the Northern Song Dynasty (977) and is located on Zhaoqian Mountain on the south bank of the West Lake.
