In the field of figure painting in Shaanxi, Ding Sumei, an associate professor at Xi 'an University of Arts and Sciences, used the beauty of vague, fresh and simple pictures to form her own independent artistic language and cultural symbols. On the national tour of Chang 'an Spirit, nominated by outstanding young and middle-aged Chinese painting masters in Shaanxi, her figure painting vividly shows the inner world of urban women in various ways with its aesthetic taste of emptiness, quietness, softness, lightness, elegance and ease, using the technique of combining sketching with bonelessness, and its painting scene is like a dream, but also in the dust, as if it were nothing, out of nothing, alternating between reality and reality, as if it were the moon in the water.
Ding Sumei's long hair is floating in front of her, just like the unique woman in her pen, quiet and elegant, with deep connotation, emitting the noble, elegant and atmospheric fragrance of orchids unique to intellectual women. Graduated from Xi 'an Academy of Fine Arts, she studied under Professor He Rongmin, a famous figure painter, and with her profound artistic skills, she took the path of China's character creation extremely pure. In the long-term artistic practice, she sought the most harmonious breakthrough point between the traditional techniques of China's figure creation and contemporary art, effectively integrated the traditional ancient figure painting into the aesthetic activities of contemporary figures, and made bold attempts and breakthroughs. In her opinion, the hazy beauty in China's traditional paintings pays attention to seeing the reality in the virtual and seeing the emptiness in the real. fiction and fact permeates and transforms each other, and you have me in you and I have you in me, which is both hazy and superficial, and is related to countless subtle beauty. This "image" of hazy beauty contains various forms of expression, which can be freehand brushwork, meticulous brushwork, part-time writing, or pure ink expression, which is the integration and unity of aesthetic spiritual standards. Therefore, in her creative practice, she not only pays attention to the expression of subjective spirit, but also emphasizes the interest of verve, paying more attention to the modeling of images, actively absorbing realistic skills from the relationship between tradition and modernity, enriching image modeling with realistic spirit, and combining realistic elements with image verve, especially to express the beauty of women. In particular, many works on the theme of urban modern women's beauty incorporate realistic methods and skills, and also inject vague colors of fantasy, deeply explore the spiritual world of modern women, capture the thoughts, dreams and longings of modern urban women, and realize deep psychological characterization of personality.
The modern female image in Ding Sumei's works is "beauty hidden in the light, but kung fu in the void" (Qing Xue Xue's "A Ladle of Poems"). Light but not thin, see thick in light, there are images in things, virtual reality, interaction between reality and reality, yin and yang, back-to-back, spirit, interest, calmness and depth. It is my work that "does not flatter the eyes of the world". The reality, vividness and subtlety of the female figures in her works show the breath of life one by one, and the elegance of lines is in harmony with the faint and rich lyricism of ink and the pure breath of girls. With lyrical style, boneless painting, changeable light ink and elegant coloring, she captures the pulse of the times from the life of modern cities and expresses youthful vitality. Every picture is filled with charming poetry, and the charm of innocent girls is filled with the unique cultural charm of modern cities. As the critic Shang Hui said: "Ding Sumei's urban women are not so much elegant and graceful, but rather respectful to the culture of Han and Tang Dynasties."
Ding Sumei is an artist in a pure sense. In the long-term teaching and artistic practice in colleges and universities, she has collected her heart in glitz, cultivated her artistic conception, enjoyed reading literature and history, and read a lot of books. In the practice of extra-painting, she sought the fusion point between China's traditional painting and modern aesthetic consciousness. In her series of works, there are both inheritance veins consistent with traditional principles and methods, and innovative actions closely related to modern life. In her works, the shape is her own shape, the scenery is her own scenery, and the emotion is her own emotion. From her series of pictures, such as Four Screens for Ladies, Rest Series, Flower Shadow Series and Flower Season Series, the beautiful and pure eyes of the girls in that picture are clear and sincere, such as a clear spring that can be seen at a glance, and their bodies with pure breath show the innocence of urban girls. The "innocence" and "poetry" in this hazy beauty are positive, simple and unpretentious, extremely kind and not virtual, and shine with the human brilliance of "truth, goodness and beauty".
"A flower and a world, a leaf and a true knowledge." Ding Sumei feels things with poetry and recites ambition with Tao. Lan Xin is intelligent, obsessed with pen and ink, and over the years, with subjective intentions and vivid characters, she has always been poetic and picturesque. She is not good at packaging, not relying on hype, not limiting the fashion and not playing with techniques. She is her own style and has nothing to do with others. With this, I value Ding Sumei's works and respect her personality even more.
