Edible alcohol is a kind of water-containing alcohol made from grains, potatoes, molasses or other edible crops by fermentation and distillation, which is used in food industry.
Industrial alcohol is the alcohol used in industry, also known as denatured alcohol and industrial liquor. The purity of industrial alcohol is generally above 95%. There are mainly two production methods (corn or cassava), which contain a certain amount of impurities such as methanol, aldehydes and organic acids, which greatly increase its toxicity. Industrial alcohol can not be used for human disinfection, because methanol can cause poisoning, and some of it will be absorbed by the skin when used for skin disinfection, leading to blindness and even death.
