The growth process of bean sprouts

There are three main types of bean sprouts we usually call: mung bean sprouts, soybean sprouts and black bean sprouts, but black bean sprouts are very rare. Bean sprouts are easy to grow and harvest quickly. There are four main stages: germination, seedling, sprouting and growth.

1. Germination

The first stage: bean sprouts germination period. The beans will not change much in the first two days after they are sown. Slowly, their skin will crack, their size will increase, and the water in the seedling pots or other containers will decrease.

2. Seedlings

The second stage: mung beans begin to grow seedlings. Entering the growth phase. Under normal circumstances, on the third day, its seed coat will crack, and a light yellow bud will grow from the gap. This bud is its root.

3. Drawing

The third stage: the leaves of mung bean sprouts begin to enter the drawing stage. On the fifth day, the roots of the bean sprouts continue to grow and grow lateral roots. The young sprouts pull out and slowly grow young leaves.

4. Growth

The fourth stage: the bean sprouts enter the growth period. Generally, they can be harvested and eaten after 7 to 10 days of cultivation. However, attention should be paid to hygiene issues to prevent the bean sprouts from being infected by germs and causing damage.
