Alias motherwort, saffron motherwort.
Morphological CharacteristicsVietnamese annual herb. Stem square, each side concave into a groove, stem with white hairs. Leaves opposite, variable in shape; cauline leaves, petiole long, subovoid, margin lobed, apex obtuse-rounded. Basal part heart-shaped; terminal leaves linear, sessile or subsessile, crowded in leaf axils, arranged in whorls, corolla lip-shaped. Nutlets yellowish brown, three-angled (Fig. 18).

Growth and distribution Born in the wilderness, riversides, roadsides and field ridges. It grows throughout the country.
Medicinal part of the whole herb.
Harvesting season summer and fall.
Processing and storage of the whole grass, blow-dried in the shade for storage.
