The first type: chopsticks test
Take a water-free and oil-free chopstick and insert it into the bottle of honey. If the chopsticks go down, the greater the resistance, indicating that this honey may be mixed with sugar. If it is really pure natural honey, it will be easily inserted into the bottom of the bottle. This trick is basically trial and error, very simple and practical.
In addition, when chopsticks are pulled out, high-quality honey will be drawn. The longer the line is drawn, the better. Although honey mixed with maltose can be drawn, it will not rebound when it is broken.
The second type: testing the water
Natural honey is rich in fructose, glucose, gum and other substances. Strong shaking will produce rich foam, while fake honey is mixed with artificial syrup, artificial fruit pulp and other ingredients, which will not produce too much foam.
The specific method is to put honey into an empty bottle, then add water, the ratio of honey to water is 3: 1, and then shake it vigorously, and the foam of honey can be observed.
The third type: liquor test.
Take a bowl without water and oil, then add a proper amount of honey, and then add white wine to the honey. The amount of white wine should not exceed honey, and let it stand for a few minutes. If the color of honey has not changed, it means that honey is real. If honey changes color or even turns green, then you may buy fake honey.
The fourth kind: shake the bottle.
All three of the above need to be tested, but we can't do this test when buying honey. But we can test it by shaking the bottle of honey, which can produce many tiny bubbles, indicating that honey is real, and vice versa. Because real honey contains a kind of protein called glucose oxidase, it will decompose unstable hydrogen peroxide and produce bubbles when shaken.
