Dragon fruit is native to the Americas and to Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, Ecuador, Cuba, Colombia and other places in northern South America. Later it was introduced to Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam and Thailand, as well as Hainan, Guangxi, Guangdong, Fujian, Yunnan and other provinces and regions in mainland China.
