There are many sedentary people abroad. Most Americans have to sit at least eight or nine hours a day, with a lunch break of only one hour. Germans have to sit in the office for eight hours a day, with a two-hour lunch break, but most people, because they live in the suburbs, go to work and drive or take the train for 5-8 hours. Japanese people have to sit 8-12 hours a day at work, however, they get up and walk around a lot, such as to receive guests and go to the conference room as a group to discuss things.
