The eggshell is thick but brittle, so it must be stored with care to minimize the loss. The suitable storage temperature of eggs is10 ~15℃. When choosing breeding eggs, we should eliminate sand-shelled eggs, steel-preserved eggs, deformed eggs, broken eggs and eggs that are too big or too small. The effect of storage time on the hatching rate of mountain eggs is more serious than that of domestic chickens. The results showed that the hatching rate of fertilized eggs was 89.3% when stored at room temperature of 23℃ for1~ 2 days, but decreased to 75.3% after 7 ~ 8 days, and decreased to 53.5% after 9 ~10 days. Therefore, the storage period of pheasant eggs should be shortened as much as possible.
