1. Tang Monk
His common surname is Chen, his biological name is Jiangliu, and his Buddhist name is Xuanzang. He is the most eminent monk in the Tang Dynasty, so he is called Tang Monk. When he traveled west to seek Buddhist scriptures, Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty Li Shimin bestowed upon him the name Tripitaka.
Later, he was secretly selected by the Tathagata to go to the Western Heaven to obtain scriptures, and was given three treasures, namely, a cassock, a nine-ring tin staff, and a golden hoop. Tang Monk was tall, elegant in manner, kind in temperament, and very knowledgeable in Buddhist scriptures.
2. Sun Wukong
Dharma Walker is the great disciple of Monk Tang, who can perform seventy-two transformations and soar into the clouds and mist. A pair of fiery eyes can see through the disguised tricks of monsters and monsters; a somersault can turn a hundred and eighty thousand miles; the weapon he uses is the Ruyi Golden Cudgel, which can be big or small and can be changed at will, from an embroidery needle to a big one that can stand tall on the sky and the earth.
He occupied the Huaguo Mountain as the king, called himself the Monkey King, disrupted the Queen Mother’s Peach Festival, stole the Supreme Laojun’s elixir of immortality, defeated the 100,000 heavenly soldiers and generals in the heavenly palace, and then committed suicide. He fought against Tathagata regardless of his strength and was trapped under the Five Elements Mountain for more than five hundred years.
Later, with the enlightenment of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, he protected Monk Tang from studying in the West.
3. Zhu Bajie
Wuneng, named Wu Neng, is the second disciple of Tang Monk. He was originally the Tianpeng Marshal of the Jade Emperor. He was expelled from heaven for molesting Chang'e and reincarnated in the human world. Wrong birth into a pig fetus, looks like a pig. He can transform and fly into the clouds, and the weapon he uses is the nine-tooth palladium nail.
Tang Monk went to the west to obtain Buddhist scriptures and passed by Yunzhan Cave. Zhu Bajie was subdued by Sun Wukong.
4. Monk Sha
Family named Wujing, he was originally the curtain general of the Jade Emperor in the Heavenly Palace. He was demoted from heaven for violating the rules of heaven and made trouble in the Liusha River in the human world. The weapon he uses is a treasured sword for subduing demons. He is highly skilled in martial arts and is not afraid of powerful enemies.
