Pumpkin must be kept dry. The pumpkins that have just been picked may be dirty and may have soil or dust on them. Even so, do not wash them. Because the pumpkin must be kept dry, otherwise it will rot easily.
The storage place must be ventilated. Ventilation means air circulation. Because only with air circulation can the water vapor in the place where the pumpkins are stored can be effectively discharged.
The storage area must not be exposed to sunlight. If the sun shines on the pumpkin for a long time, it will easily deteriorate and the pumpkin will go bad.
Dry straw or wheat straw should be placed in the storage area. There is straw or wheat straw as a cushion to prevent water vapor from penetrating into the pumpkin easily.
When storing pumpkins, they must not be crowded together, but should be separated by a certain distance. Although storing pumpkins in this way takes up some distance, it can keep the pumpkins dry for a long time, which is convenient for preservation.
Regular inspections are required. After the pumpkins have been stored for a certain period of time, they should be inspected regularly to prevent some pumpkins from rotting and a small number of pumpkins from becoming moldy.
