Baize kiwifruit is a Zhouzhi kiwifruit variety. The texture of Zhouzhi kiwi is soft, and its taste is sometimes described as a mixture of strawberry, banana, and pineapple. Because macaques like to eat, they are named kiwi fruit. It is also said that it got its name because the peel has multiple hairs and looks like a macaque. There are various varieties, and its fresh fruits and processed products have won many international and domestic awards and are exported to 26 countries and regions.
Development of kiwifruit varieties in Zhouzhi
Zhouzhi, Shaanxi Province, is known as the hometown of kiwifruit and the largest kiwifruit planting base in the world. In 2004, Zhouzhi Kiwi obtained the EU organic food certification, thus opening up a new era for Zhouzhi Kiwi to go global.
Zhouzhi kiwifruit has been awarded the title of Hometown of Kiwifruit in China and has been certified as a green food by the China Green Food Development Center.
