The cultivation method of chlorophytum:
1, fertilization:
When planting or changing pots, an appropriate amount of organic fertilizer can be added to the bottom of pots as base fertilizer to provide nutrients for growth. In the growth season of spring and autumn, the method of applying fertilizer outside the roots is enough, and it is enough to apply thin fertilizer once a week. Liquid fertilizer can be used as fertilizer, and some foliar fertilizers can be used together to promote the flourishing growth of branches and leaves. In winter, chlorophytum grows slowly, so fertilization should be suspended. Pay attention to the application of less nitrogen fertilizer to the chlorophytum in Phnom Penh varieties to avoid the color of leaves from fading.
2. Water:
In spring and autumn, water 1~2 times a week. In summer, it needs to be watered every day. In winter, plants grow slowly and need to be watered. In the dry season, it is necessary to spray water to the surrounding environment frequently to keep the air moist and make a pot green and bright. Before watering, observe the dry and wet conditions of the soil, and then water it thoroughly. The soil should not be too wet, and it should be loosened frequently every day, which is beneficial to the root system to absorb water.
3. Lighting:
Chlorophytum likes semi-cloudy environment, and in the season of strong sunshine, it is necessary to shade properly to avoid exposure. Daily maintenance with scattered light can make the plants photosynthesize and prevent the leaves from drying up in the sun. It is suggested that the flowerpot should be rotated frequently, so that the plants can receive light evenly, grow neatly and luxuriantly, and enhance the appreciation.
4. Soil:
Chlorophytum likes loose and fertile soil with good water permeability and drainage, and can be mixed with 2 parts of pastoral soil +2 parts of sandy soil+1 part of perlite, or mixed with humus soil+garden soil+river sand 1 part to make culture soil. Keep the soil slightly wet and not too dry every day.
Precautions for chlorophytum:
1, pay attention to when the temperature is higher than 30 degrees in summer and lower than 5 degrees in winter, stop fertilizing chlorophytum, otherwise it will easily hurt the roots.
2. Be careful not to splash the fertilizer solution on the leaves, especially the new buds, which may easily cause rot. It is recommended to slowly irrigate along the edge of the flowerpot when fertilizing.
