Culture conditions and fingerling culture of Silurus meridionalis
Silurus meridionalis is distributed in the waters south of the Yangtze River in China, with a common weight of about 2 to 5 kilograms. It was domesticated and cultured artificially in the mid-1980s.

This paper introduces the culture conditions and fingerling culture of catfish, and talks about the culture technology of catfish.

1. Culture conditions of Silurus meridionalis is a warm-water fish. The suitable water temperature for survival is 0 ~ 38℃, the suitable water temperature for growth is12 ~ 30℃, and the optimum water temperature for growth is 25 ~ 28℃.

When dissolved oxygen in water is above 3 mg/L, Silurus meridionalis grows normally.

When the dissolved oxygen in water is less than 2 mg/L, floating heads begin to appear.

When the dissolved oxygen in water is lower than 1 mg/L, it will lead to death.

There are two basic conditions for breeding catfish:

1, sufficient water source, water quality meeting fishery standards, and convenient water intake and drainage.

2. The survival temperature is 0-38℃.

The optimum growth water temperature is 24-28℃.

The optimum ph value is 7.0-8.4.

The requirement of dissolved oxygen in water is slightly higher than that of domestic fish.

It grows normally above 3 mg/L.

Above 5 mg/L, the growth rate is the highest and the feed conversion rate is the highest.

Second, the fry culture of Silurus meridionalis just hatched completely depends on its own yolk for nutrition. After about 2 days, the yolk begins to disappear slowly, and when the larvae can swim horizontally normally, they can go down to the pond to eat.

The open feed for fry can be cooked egg yolk or small cladocera and copepods.

Cook the eggs, remove the shells, take the yolks and wrap them with gauze. Squeeze the yolks in a dish filled with water to make them form a slurry of egg yolk particles, and pour wine all over the pool.

As the fish grows up, it can be fed with Daphnia, Chironomid larvae, earthworm, fly maggot and various domestic fry, or fed with silkworm pupa powder, pig blood, artificial seedling compound feed and so on.

Generally, 6000-10000 catfish fry with a length of 3 cm are raised per mu. When the catfish fry have grown to 5-7 cm in length, it is necessary to train and feed artificial compound bait at this time, and the protein content in the feed reaches more than 45%.

3. The feed for adult Silurus meridionalis is mainly artificial compound feed, with a coarse protein of 36% ~ 42% and a particle diameter of 3mm ~ 5mm.

Under the condition of pond culture, fresh animal feed can be fed where conditions permit, including all kinds of wild fish, domestic fry, tilapia self-bred larvae, animal offal, earthworms, fly maggots, snails and mussels, etc. These feeds are of good quality and suitable for small-scale farming in farmers.

Generally, adult fish feed can be made according to the following proportions: fish meal 25%, peanut powder 18%, yeast powder 5%, fish oil 1. 1%, corn flour 10.4%, compound amino acid 2% and premix 2.5%.

1, the main rearing catfish ① Choose ponds with an area of more than 3 mu and a water depth of more than 2 meters.

② Put 800-1000 fish per mu, and polyculture 80-100 fish, bighead carp and grass carp100 fish.
