Hulunbeier, also known as Hulunbeier League, is a prefecture-level city in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, located in the northeast of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It borders Xing 'an League in the south, Nenjiang River and Daxinganling region in Heilongjiang Province in the east, Russia in the north and northwest, and Mongolia in the west and southwest. With a total area of 253,000 square kilometers, it is the largest city in China.
Hulunbeier is located in the north temperate zone and has a remarkable continental climate. It starts from the intersection of Genhe River and Ergon River in the north, and is roughly demarcated along120 east longitude to the south.
