Source Rubus parvifolius, family Rosaceae, is used as medicine by its roots or stems and leaves. The roots are dug in fall, and the stems and leaves are picked in summer and fall, and used fresh or cut into pieces and dried in the sun.
The properties are bitter, astringent and cool.
Functions and IndicationsClearing heat and cooling the blood, dispersing knots, relieving pain, diuretic and subduing swelling. Used for cold and fever, sore throat, hemoptysis, vomiting blood, dysentery, enteritis, hepatitis, liver and spleen enlargement, nephritis, edema, urinary tract infections, stones, menstrual disorders, leucorrhea, rheumatism, bone pain, bruises, swelling and pain; externally for eczema, dermatitis.
Use and dosage 0.5 ~ 1 tael; external use of appropriate amount, fresh leaves mashed compress, or decoction of water fumigation.
