1. Raphus cucullatus, or dodo, also known as Mauritius dodo, stupid dove and solitary pigeon, is a flightless bird that is only found in Mauritius Island in the Indian Ocean. It can be called one of the most famous extinct animals except dinosaurs. It is also the only extinct bird in Mauritius that has been designated as the national bird. The dodo became extinct in 1681.

5. Balihu, Panthera tigris balica? (Schwarz, 1912), a subspecies of Panthera, is the smallest of modern tigers, and its size is less than 1/3 of that of other tigers in the north. It is about 1.15 meters long and weighs about 1 kilograms. It lives in the tropical rain forest in northern Bali, Indonesia. It was extinct in 1937 under the killing of human beings, and now people can't appreciate this smallest tiger species. According to records, the last Balihu was shot by greedy hunters in the forest of western Bali on September 27th, 1937.
