Soda ash added to laundry is Na2CO3. In the aqueous solution, first-level hydrolysis Na2CO3+H2O==(reversible)==NaHCO3+NaOH, and then second-level hydrolysis NaHCO3+H2O==(reversible )==H2CO3+NaOH,

The NaOH obtained by hydrolysis can undergo a saponification reaction with the grease on the clothes, thereby turning the grease on the clothes into soluble salts and glycerin, thus achieving the purpose of decontamination.
